Barbara Parker, a member of the firm’s transactional group, concentrates her practice in the commercial real estate area.
Barbara has extensive experience representing for-profit, non-profit and public entities in all areas of the commercial real estate practice, including property acquisitions and dispositions, financing transactions, leasing, permitting and development matters. A large part of Barbara’s practice involves the representation of public, non-profit and for-profit entities in complex transactions for the financing and development of housing, both subsidized and conventional. She has represented the Massachusetts Housing Partnership Board Fund, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston and other public and quasi-public lenders, as well as for-profit developers and private lenders, on a wide variety of projects throughout the Commonwealth. Currently, Barbara also advises many of the firm’s health care and human services clients in their property acquisitions and real estate finance and development activities.
Barbara began her practice at the former Boston firm of Csaplar & Bok. She also has served as associate general counsel of a publicly-held software company and as special counsel to the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development. Before attending law school, Barbara held various positions with the City of Boston in the housing and economic development areas.
Barbara is a 1975 magna cum laude graduate of Barnard College and a 1986 graduate of Boston University School of Law. She also holds a Master of City Planning degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
