"The practice of law is the continuous refinement of two distinct skills discerning the true needs of the client in a particular situation, and determining how best to serve those needs.
"The implementation of these skills involves a constant series of judgments when to focus on the particular issue at hand and when to take a step back and look at the big picture; when to negotiate and when to stop negotiating; when to counsel, and perhaps urge the client to consider other sides to the issue; and when to simply follow directions. My clients rely on my judgment, and it is a responsibility I take very seriously."
Samuel Nagler joined Krokidas & Bluestein in 1981 and has been a partner in the firm’s transactional group since 1990.
Sam represents for-profit, non-profit and public clients in the purchase and sale, leasing and financing of commercial real estate. Much of his practice also involves the representation of business clients in the areas of formation, business planning and business acquisitions and sales.
Sam’s transactional clients represent a mix of parties from both sides of a transaction: lenders and borrowers; buyers and sellers; and landlords and tenants. Sam’s ability to view transactions from various perspectives has enabled him to better assist his clients navigate the multitude of legal and practical issues inherent in making complex commercial transactions work to their best advantage.
Sam takes particular pride in the fact that many of his clients have been with him throughout most of his career at the firm. He has participated in the growth of these clients and gained a deep understanding of their businesses and manners of operation. This has enabled Sam to be proactive in identifying and resolving potential issues for his clients at early and still manageable stages.
Sam’s community activities include past service as an officer and Director of Open Table, Inc., a local food pantry; helping found, and serving as an officer of, a non-profit corporation providing scholarships to middle school students in memory of a local student; and helping create a non-profit corporation supporting a high school’s performing arts program.
Prior to joining the firm, Sam served as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. He is a 1974 magna cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and a 1980 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law.
